Father in Jesus' Name, I bring this 22 month old baby before Your throne of grace and his family also. I ask that You heal his body LORD from crown of his head to the soles of his feet. I declare that by Jesus' stripes HE IS HEALED and made whole. I plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over him! Cover him, protect him, strengthen him, and bind death, in the Name of Jesus. Father release Your anointing upon this family, give them Your strength. May they be encouraged and stand firm on YOUR Holy Word O God! I thank You Father for doing what only You can do! Thank You! Give this baby boy a life of longevity save him at an early age and use him towards the up-building of Your Kingdom; for Your glory alone Father. Let Your will be done in his life and in the life of all his family members! In Jesus' Name I pray! ...Be encouraged family...continue to stand firm on the Word of God. Speak Words of Life (God's Word) over him. God bless you & keep you! Amen!

A brad nailer is small and light weight....very easy for a child to pick up. Also the dif names could be a little confusion from all of the copy and pasting. Someone may have put the name of the person thru saw the post on. Don't assume anything. If you are true intercessors you will pray regardless and have faith that Our God who holds the world in His hand knows the true story and will hNdle it. What would you do if you decided to stop prayers because your offended then saw on the evening news that a 22 month old died from being shot in thr heart with a brad nailer. Come on people. Prayer (time with God) is never a bad thing regardless of the requestors intentions.
So, please pray. Don't bring condemnation on someone you know nothing about.

Evangelist Jan Wheeler What does it matter? Perhaps somewhere in the United States or even in other countries that some child got shot with a nail gun. Or even someone named Cheryl is tormented about her child in some way. Prayer is prayer and that's what we'r...e about. I'll never believe that we wasted our breath or time. Bless God I wish people would hear something and start praying for someone named "Jan" and me and all the "Jan's would be touched just because God heard the genuine heart of HIS praying people. KEEP ON PRAYING FICTICIOUS OR NOT.

And how did this child get this nail gun? I would not brag about your 23 month old being able to lift a nail gun, let alone being able to have access to one!

If this original story is a hoax, you better pray that the next child shooting themselves with a nail gun is not yours...

Regarding the urgent post for prayer for 22-month old who shot himself with brad nailer. I've researched using every possible means to verify this email. So far, I've found 6 different names of the supposed mother in this scenario. No where did I find the name of the child or any other details. Therefore, I searched records for this tragic accident and could find NOTHING. I'm always skeptical when no listed city, state, hospital, newspaper write-up, etc., appears in the email or anywhere else for that matter. Until I can, or ANYONE else can, verify this email requesting prayer, I have to believe it is just a hoax. Please reply if anyone has specific details and proof of this alleged incident. Thanks for hearing me out! PTL!

Want to report me for abuse? For what? Being skeptical for praying for a child that no ones knows the name of? No one knows where or how the child is. There is never any updates, nothing on the news. There are several stories floating around with different mothers names on it. Can it be possible that this is just a rumor that started and you were just passing it along?? There is nothing wrong with that. You have concern and that is ok. I just hate to see people get all worked up over something that is not true.

Sorry to inform you this is a hoax, the original incident occurred in Jan 2009 here is a link to that story: http://www.diychatroom.com/f29/just-reminder-unplug-power-tools-78015/

Actually, the guy named David , Albany, GA, who posted that about the child joined DIY in Feb. 2009. The incident was mentioned in a post made Aug. 5, 2009. It was a post about unplugging power tools.

That is wrong, anonblonde and geezer1, David posted his comment on 8/5/10 and joined DIY in 2/09. Try reading that again.
kommeat wrote on Aug 8, '10
Okay not to be mean here but lets look at this realistically I own and use power tools ALL the time. I work as a handyman making cabinets, doing drywall, flooring, roofing, and other jobs. Basically whatever I can get for work. Now if anyone here has every USED a nail gun be it electric or air powered they know that ALL nail guns have built in safeties. These safeties require that the tip of the nail gun MUST be depressed firmly against a surface BEFORE the trigger can be pulled an allow the gun to fire a nail. Now after reading this article and before posting I went out to the garage and weighed all my nail guns. My 3 brad nailer's all weighed in between 4 and 6 pounds. This means that a 22 month old would have to PICK UP 4 pounds. TURN it to face his chest, PRESS it to his chest, and then PULL the trigger. Now I'm not saying that this COULDN'T happen, but I know for a fact that my 2 year old godson can barely pick this up and hold it for 30 seconds. Now in that 30 seconds the odds of him turning the gun holding it to his chest and pulling the trigger are somewhere around 1,000,000,000,000 to 1. So if this DID HAPPEN. I for one want to know who was holding the gun and pulled the trigger. An older child maybe. Like I said I'm not saying its impossible, but that IF SOMEWHERE there is a kid in the hospital with a nail lodged in his heart I'm just saying that he DIDN'T shoot himself he had help!!!!!!!

I'm asking for Holy Ghost discernment as I write this. While prayer is ALWAYS good when requested for any situation, I think we, as Christians, owe it to our email address book to personally verify ANY email BEFORE we forward or post. There is frustration for those of us who field too many hoax emails from trusted (???) people or sources. I liken forwards to gossip, the content appears irrelevant, be it true or false, but lets be the first to broadcast the news! Is there a prize for being the "quickest forward-button-pusher"? Many have posted that they prayed anyway, true or not, and as I feel their hearts were in the right place, they lifted nonexistent people in a contrived scenario up to Jesus for help. I, personally, take prayer requests VERY SERIOUSLY! "Specific details" were/are entrusted to me by our Lord for Holy Ghost power to heal and save. I'm deeply saddened and disappointed when finding no proof of validation, as there are so many REAL critical needs. Let's do a little investigative work before we keep the "gossip train" movin' on down. We are accountable for ourselves and our actions and "The Truth Shall Set You Free" - AMEN & Hallelujah!

This is real it is my nephew thank you very much...it was a brad nailer which weighs 2.2lbs~~and the attorney in charge is may be taking it to court because the safety mechanism is thought to be defective, which was not known at the time. The child is in Illinois and instead of HOAX peoples prayer requests how about you pray for them and let GOD be the judge not you, or did you forget that piece of the Bible because you felt it didn't apply to you??? And if you are so handy you should know a brad nailer is only 2.2 lbs and shoots brad the diameter of a paper clip.
prazb2jc wrote on Aug 9, '10
You have, once again, proved my point. As you say this is your nephew, what is his name, how old is he now, what was the date of this accident, what city in Illinois are they from, which hospital was he admitted to, which Law Firm is representing the family (I can actually help you there as I personally know four attorneys who practice in the State of Illinois). By the way, I do not have a clue as to what you are referring to when you speak of being "handy" with a brad nailer; I've never seen one. You will have my most humble and sincere apologies as a Christian if you can provide solid proof of this family, this incident, and specifically those physical areas that need to be healed as I feel pressed by the Holy Ghost for confirmation of this tragic accident in order to pray on the specific needs of those involved in this prayer request. Supply the TRUTH to this board and you'll have more prayer warriors on their knees than you could ever imagine!
truth2u wrote on Aug 9, '10
Also, if there are more children out there that this has happened to maybe I will research this because maybe they have the same defective brad nailer and it needs recalled. Just please don't say negative things about my family, they are hurting enough and don't need abuse from people that don't even know them. Also people don't want to give you their exact location because this is the world wide web and not to be rude but there are alot of weirdos out there that dont' need our exact locations. Also, my nephew is doing well he had a huge turn around last Sunday once they were able to get his bowels moving and give his lungs some space to expand. He is now expected to make a full recovery and let me tell you it is because unquestioning people of faith got on their knees and prayed for him unselfishly! God has yet again defied doctors expectations, that is what prayer is all about!

First off, this is in no way a hoax. The child's name is Hayden and he is my son. I'm pleased to report that he will be leaving the hospital on Thursday as soon as he receives his last dose of antibiotics. Thank you so much for the prayers for his recovery, he is a miracle. The accident happened on 7/29/10, and he has been at Carle clinic in champaign, il since then. His big sister(almost 5) had helped him out of his crib while I was downstairs... I had been in and out all afternoon working on window trim while he was taking a nap. Yes, I should have unhooked it before walking away, and trust me I've thought about it constantly since then. Kinda hard not to blame myself, thank God he had his hand on my boy. I never would have even had the nailer out had he been awake. (don't think it wont haunt me forever thinking about how close i came to losing my son) The "nailer" or pinner by the way is just a little bigger than a staple gun, definitely lighter than 4-6#s....2.2#s per manufacturers specs to be exact. It also requires very little pressure on the front plunger for it to go off, after all it is a trim nailer and is designed that way to avoid marring up finished trim by having to push to hard. I know lots of people picture a large framing nailer and think no way a 2 year old could have done that. The DCFS case worker that investigated the incident thought the same thing, until she went to my house and saw how small and easy to set off it was. And as far as all the different names going around that's just because of the copying and pasting prayer request from facebook ect. The good thing is God knows the names and where to direct the healing, which he has done!!! So thank you to all who lifted us up in prayers, we are so blessed!
haydensdad wrote on Aug 9, '10
And by the way, my son who is bigger than 2 of his 3 year old cousins can pick up and carry our 11 pound cat like it's no big deal. I'm suprised at how many people seem to think that a kid his size can't lift a few pounds. Geez, they obviously have never seen my son in action.

Praise God to all who prayed for Hayden and his family without questioning the need to pray. The truth is that the need to pray is every day and for every one.

Those who have come on to this page with only the intention of casting doubt, ridiculing, harrassing, attempting to lift yourselves up by putting others down and all the others tricks of the enemy - prayer is stronger. Our God is stronger and we are more than conquerers!

Where ever two or more gather in my name, I am there among them! Our God was there and he worked miracles thanks to the prayers of the faithful and those who prayed on just plain faith! PRAISE GOD!

I too, wondered if this was a hoax...only because sadly, they DO get started. I check EVERYTHING against Snopes before posting...this item had circulated across Facebook VERY fast...names changing, etc. People should use more caution when copying & pasting...remove the "friend of a friend"...that sort of thing!

However, WHY does anyone need the details to pray for a child? Really? I mean, I dunno who YOUR God is, but mine would hear my prayers regardless if I had the city, the name, the body parts affected!

Hayden's Dad...thanks for the update...thank God Hayden is ok! God is great! =)

haydensdad wrote on Aug 9, '10
Ok let's be overly technical about it. Carle Clinic and Foundation Hospital located on university ave in champaign. And yes there are lots of physicians offices that carry the name carle. But my son is at the actual hospital which by the way is often just called carle clinic. Sorry to not be obnoxiously specific on the hospital's name for you.

I was just wondering... What is the mother's name? That is the only thing that keeps changing and his dad is the one who continues replying. Could someone please let me know?
prazb2jc wrote on Aug 9, '10
I believe your comments were directed toward me regarding "detailed" prayer. I think there's a misunderstanding of what I was trying to convey. In this situation, I wanted "details" to prove or disprove the contents of that email request. Since you felt the need to point out that I have a "different" God from you, know that a foolish remark does not phase me, however, what does hurt is your blatant mockery of Almighty God. How do your words Glorify God or work toward building up His Kingdom? I believe what the scriptures teach which is to be specific in our requests. Jesus tells us to pray specifically (Matthew 6:5-13). Let's go straight to the source - Jesus Christ; the One True Author of prayer. Why would Jesus bother to explain to His disciples "how" to pray if He felt generalized petitions sufficed? He does not want us to pray as the heathens did with repetitive prayer and meaningless babble. I'll paraphrase from a written article entitled "Praying Effectively" posted on "Pastor Bill Ministries" website. "One of the greatest hindrances to praying effectively is praying too generally. You need to think about your praying. When you pray specifically, it helps you to "see" when God answers your prayer. And the greatest motivation to pray is answered prayer. Evidence that God is answering your prayers is an indication that you are praying effectively! Again the ability to "see" when your prayers are answered is directly related to how specific you are in prayer. The primary purposes for prayer are: 1). To bring glory to God and 2). To bring growth in your relationship with Him. Both of these are accomplished when you pray specifically." Personally, I don't NEED details to pray, but specific prayer begets specific answers!
harleykat wrote on Aug 9, '10
Mmmmkay...thanks for 'splaining that! We can agree to disagree! I really feel no need to ramble on & on...when I say a prayer for someone, (my) God knows who I am asking for healing for because He has been with me throughout my day. =)

Dear Hayden's Dad - do not for one second let the enemy rob you of the joy of your son's miracle or your faith in God or prayer. The Lord must have big plans for that little man for so many to be trying to make light of the miracle or the power of prayer! The enemy hates to see us help one another, he seeks to divide and discourage. Give thanks to God and do not listen to anything else! Go kiss your little guy and thank God for the blessing!

I have been going round and round with this supposed “father” of Hayden, the supposed 22-month old who shot himself. The blog/post that you’re referring to is turning into a battle zone, especially Christian against Christian. If you go to that site, my display name is PrazB2JC and you can see what I mean. I did an extremely thorough research of this alleged incident. As in my prior posts, no proof, no validation, no details. The “father” states that his son is doing well in Champaign IL at Carle Clinic/Hospital. First of all, I called the hospital and while the receptionist could not give out any confidential info, which I totally understood, I asked if she, herself, had heard of this accident. She said “no, but that’s not uncommon”. I phoned the News-Gazette to inquire about this tragedy; they stated they had not heard anything about this. I went through the police call records from 07.29.2010 through 5 days post-accident, and there is no mention of a call in this area having to do with a toddler and a nailer. Supposed father filled out a partial profile on prayercloset.multiple.com in which he lists his home state as “Pennsylvania”. The name he uses is “Robert”. So, what’s a guy living in PA, but working on his home in Champaign IL, trying to pull??? This world is getting sicker and sicker

Its say when people spread things like this, or things about people being missing and to pass that news around. It can get a lot of people praying, but for what?
jessie1012 wrote on Aug 10, '10
I agree with the previous poster who said parents should be VERY careful with any tool, particularly dangerous ones, but anything can happen. I remember when my brother was about 2 ish, we were in my mom's room as she was packing to go to the cottage. My brother was sitting near the tv, and even with my mom there, he managed to pull in on himself. He ended up being ok, and did not need to go to the hospital or anything, but it was something I can understand my mom, or most parents would not expect to happen.

It isn't up to us to decide what is real and what is fake. We won't answer to Our Heavenly Father for praying for a fake request, the ones posting that request and know it is fake will have to answer for that. What we WILL have to answer for is the request that goes out and no one prays for because we are analyzing it to death.

At least the insanely off color, insulting, and rude post has been deleted. Trueprayers: I don't know how the profile defaulted to Pennsylvania. I don't even remember it asking for a location. And just because we are in champaign, doesn't mean that champaign's police would have records of it. Why don't you try Macon county (if they will even give that info out) because that is where it happened...he was transferred here from st mary's in Decatur. I really don't know why I'm wasting my time here trying to convince some of you that your prayers were for a real reason. You all can believe what you want and nothing I can say will remove your skepticism short of posting pictures of my son and his scars for all to see, which I will not do! So say what you will, my family and I know that God has pulled my son through this and that is all that matters. I will not post again, so thank you to those who prayed faithfully for my son. He is a miracle!!!!

I am familiar with the area and hospitals involved, or else I wouldn't worry about whether this was true or not. I was in the hospital in Decatur several times with a newborn almost thirty years ago. (Son was born with rubella, and there were only three specialists in the whole state.) I don't have a problem with skepticism, or ignoring something you've seen a million times -- but I don't have time to be rude to anyone. Pray for those you know about, pray for those God knows about that you don't, and don't waste time forwarding chain mail anything. haydensdad best wishes for your whole family, even if we never meet again til we get to heaven.

I am glad that Hayden went home and hope that he is still doing well. I want you to know that there are still people praying for him because of course the story has been resurrected on Facebook. My cousin posted the message on her status. It had two names on it. I reposted it, deleting the name that basically indicated it was pasted from another message.

If I think that someone needs prayers, I say prayers. I believe that even if I don't know the name of the person in need, God does. Is it really ever a waste of time to pray? That is the impression I am getting from people and their sense of anger at being asked to pray for someone whose name they don't know. I often request prayers on my Facebook for people I don't necessarily know. I witnessed a car accident in which 2 children were involved. I only knew their first names but I still asked my friends to say a prayer for them.

Unfortunately, some people may not check all of their email messages for months. So when they do finally read something like the prayer request, they simply pass it on. Unfortunately, people don't snopes a message about politics before they forward it on, but they will snopes a prayer request...

Thank you again for clearing up everyone's confusion/distrust (or at least that was what I thought until I read further down the page). I refuse to live my life not trusting anyone or anything!

Are your prayers really selfless if you have to have every little detail down to what ambulance service was used to get the child to the hospital? I knew WHY I was praying for this child...he shot himself in the chest with a "brad nailer." NOT a nail gun. He was in the hospital and he was 22 months old. That is WHY I prayed for him. I did not have the impression that the person who posted the original message was an "attention seeking jerk." Prayer warriors pray selflessly, whether they know ALL of the details or not. Yes, the bible says pray specifically. But I think saying "I'm praying for the 22-month old boy who shot himself with the brad nailer" is specific enough. If someone asks you to pray for our troops in Iraq, do you need the names of each and every service member? Do you say the name of each member of government when you pray?

My recent experiences with "Christians" besides many of these responses include "my daughter/granddaughter/son/blah blah had to change colleges because there were too many blacks/hispanics/blah blah," people changing churches because it is easier than just apologizing for the hurtful thing they did, and just making judgemental comments, etc. Those are the kinds of attitudes that caused me to not want anything to do with church in my youth.

As for "legitimate" prayer requests, its not like someone asked you to pray for something evil. Making a prayer request for a child is totally different from the hoax that says "watch for a child who has been kidnapped." That is a waste of people's time. Saying a prayer is never a waste of time.

I to thought that this was a hoax but after reading the comments from the father of this child and the Aunt, I believe that this child is in need of prayers and this family also needs them. I thought about it I have decided that no matter what I am going to pray for this child because I was asked to. I do not know them but if it will help this child and his family then what will it hurt?

This was all a hoax. The picture included of "Hayden" and his mommy is a hoax. Hoax or not, I would hate to see this happen to a child. It's just sad that people have to get attention this way.

Thank you for posting this "becauseican3"...but did you notice that even on there people are questioning it. And to the people who posted the link to snopes...it says UNDETERMINED. That DOES NOT mean that it IS a hoax. It means they didn't find enough information.

Here is the thing that gets me. The post asked for one simple thing. Prayers. No money. No help with medical bills. ONLY prayers. More than likely, it wasn't even the family who posted the request for prayers. It may have been a family friend, a church member, who knows.

For those who use the excuse for their skepticism that they need to be specific when they pray, once again I ask, do you pray for all of the service members in Iraq or only those you know personally? When you pray for our government to do the right thing, do you say the name of each member of congress? When you pray for the surgeons and nurses working on your family member in an ER or OR, do you only pray for the ones whose names you know? If you get cut off in traffic and pray for the person who angered you, how can you do it without knowing their name?

There is no harm in saying a prayer when someone asks for it. If you can't do it, then don't. But don't try to insert doubt where there doesn't need to be any. I can understand if there was something for the person to gain from asking. But there was NOTHING suspicious about this. EXCEPT that sometimes people are not very careful when they cut and paste so the names changed. Email and the internet are just like the old game "telephone." Because no one can repeat it exactly...even if they hit forward or they cut and paste.

By the way, for those who question why the profile of "Haydensdad" says he is in Pennsylvania, have you checked your own profile. Because I just looked at mine (didn't look at it when I set it up, all it had me do was create a login and password). Mine says I am in Georgia. I'M NOT. I DID NOT tell it that I am in Georgia because I am not.

Well I am not a Christian but I sure the hell would not agree to all this as to which is going on..... I at this moment have family in the hospital to which the media has contacted my family even 60 mins and this is over a 30yr old man, we as the family do not want ppl bothering us during this time and are not one bit concerned if ppl find it to be real or fake, it should not matter, when ppl ask for prayers thats all that needs be said and I tell ya what if it was my young child I would want nothing to be released about his name our ours either knowing how crazy media can be!!!!! All you skeptics should be ashamed!!!!

Even if it is a hoax, prayers never hurt nobody. I tend to believe this one though. My only problem was that the way I got it, I thought it was one of my cousins. It's ok though, that just proves that in the process of forwarding the post, things get mixed up.
madmilitarymom wrote on Oct 24, '10
That's the entire problem, justsayn! People who copied the post tended to copy the name of the last person who sent it, causing it to have the wrong name several times. People who heard it from someone assumed it was a church member or another local person. but the BIGGEST problem is that the internet is full of skeptics and meanie-butts.

When my daughter was in Iraq and medically unfit (2003) I was trying everything to get her out of there. Politicians didn't care, and I went to the forums, barely knowing how to use the internet. I was told that I was a scam. One day I was told that I sounded suicidal (I was seriously thinking about it. It would get my daughter home!) Someone else told me to do it already. I've had racial slurs and threats to my children, and even my minister! ...so I apologize, to Hayden's Dad. All he did was try to set the record straight and try to put people's mind at ease.

Prayer is never wasted. never! God always listens and it's more precious when given than when answered to our God.. Prayer for others no matter what the situation is scriptural.
SAMUEL 12:20-24
20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
21 And turn ye not aside: for [then should ye go] after vain [things], which cannot profit nor deliver; for they [are] vain.
22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.
23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great [things] he hath done for you.

It's all about serving the Lord no matter what. If someone asked me for $20 claiming a dire need and then went and got drunk or bought Drugs. It was me serving the Lord when I gave the money and that's all that counts in my book of Life. AMEN!

I am happy that he has recovered- I posted this on my facebook because it is still going around. I have two small children and I believe prayer and faith is what gets us through each day- for anyone to question this, breaks my heart. This happens to several of children and honestly God expects more from us then we have given. For prayer should not be something done with facts or details but with faith- Our God knows who the prayers are intended for and who is in need of his healing. I will apologize for all the people above that have insulted or questioned this childs exsistance and health. The wonderful thing about our God is that he is forgiving and he is merciful- as christians we should pray daily for our brothers and sisters in christ without question or without judgement. It is our Duty as a christian to pray for feloow christians and to pray for those who are not saved to be saved. Its time to seal this Gossip and be the children of God, who we have been chosen to be.

On my first visit here, I am shocked to see such un-Christlike attitudes for supposed prayer warriors. To those of you who have posted badly (you know who you are) please never pray for me. As ambassadors for Christ, you fail miserably. As I said, you know who you are.

i actually started to cry when i saw it on in my newsfeed on facebook and reposted immediatly it really disgusts me how people take prayer and GODs grace and turns it into a lie from the pits of hell but all we can do is pray for the people who started this.......MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL!!!
